    1. Review

This book is brilliant, it has some interesting facts, it is definitely helpful and gives great advice on the most sexual topics.

This book is a cute little hardback book with illustrations that are not too explicit. The titles of chapters in this book definitely catch your attention and are very appropriate. 'A taste of things to come.' and 'Going it alone' are just a couple of chapters in this book.

I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading and would like expert tips on some of their favourite bedroom activities.

    1. Good sex tips and advice

This book has cartoon pictures and is written in a funny way, talks about subjects you wouldn't necessarily talk about with your best friends: anal play, kegel exercises, etc.

Not boring and worth the money.

    1. Get this one - it's different...

A great little book. There are hundreds of sex manuals out there, but at last we have one that not only delivers really helpful tips and information, but it does it with a sense of humour! And it's not just pages and pages of contrived positions. Julie gives us guys some really useful pointers, without making us feel 'preached at' or patronised. But it's very much a book for both sexes - in or out of a relationship - there's even a great chapter on masturbation called 'Going Solo'!

    2. Overall Rating
      10 out of 10 stars
      Pros
Tackles taboo subjects in a really accessible way.
      Cons
      Nothing.
      Bottom line
Everyone will enjoy this - it's a winner.

    1. A cheerfully informative read

Reviewed: March 15, 2011 by Lady Ness, a Bisexual Engaged Female

I feel that before you read this review, it would be beneficial to know a little about me. I purchased this book not in the hope for magical sex tips or to be enlightened, but purely to see how well written a modern self-help book regarding sex was. I currently own a vast amount of sexology, sex tip books, and psychology books relating to intercourse and sexual arousal, but they are either written in a standard textbook format and/or are at least 30 years old. I myself am only 21 but generally prefer reading complex books, and wanted to see how well I got along with this modern pop culture self-help book for sex. Also, unlike a lot of people, when purchasing this book I had never heard of Julie Peasgood.

When I received this book I was happily surprised with how well laid out the content was. The text is just the right size and chapters are set into subsections. There is also a very well laid out content page and glossary. Within some of the sections there are amusing cartoon images that even made me chuckle; these help demonstrate some of the topics addressed, but also act as a nice break for your brain when reading. The book itself was very quick to read and the writing style was easy to take in, though because it is so well laid out one can easily just look up a topic when and if needed. Also there is a handy ribbon bookmark fixed into the spine making it easy to refer back to areas quickly.

The book is called ‘The Greatest Sex Tips in the World’, purely because this is part of an informative publication series. At the back of the book it has a list of many other books published by ‘The Greatest... in the World’ publications. There is also a disclaimer stating that these are only considered in the opinion of the author and publisher to be the greatest tips regarding sex.

The information provided in the book ranges from general knowledge of the body, to fun activities and positions. There are elements that would be enjoyed by both couples and singletons. In the book there are a few interesting nerdy facts, which I had already learnt about from older texts, but the way Julie has written about them makes them more entertaining than the standard factual history writer would.

Throughout the book Julie seems to emphasise ways on how to make sexual activities comfortable, and others tips on avoiding any pain/damage to your partner. For example, there are tips involving how to avoid the dangers of long fingernails, and dos and don’ts when giving oral sex to women. Some of these things you may have considered before, but others you may not have even thought about.

There are general tips on how to prevent impotency, and tips on aphrodisiacs that can be found at your local grocery store. Within the book there are chapters for anal play, and for fetishism and fantasy play. There are sub sections for sex in the shower, and a small section on surgical play.

Julie also seems to write about the importance of body language between partners throughout the book, from tips on telling you how to make suggestive movements, to tips on avoiding those uncomfortable moments.

Overall I personally did not learn anything from the book, but as stated that was not the purpose of purchasing it. Considering all the books I have read regarding sex, I am very pleased to see that this book is as perfect as any modern self-help book can be. The writing style and layout is great for anyone whether or not they are a bookworm, and the tips are explained in very simple terms that I did not find condescending or intimidating at all.

I would like to go on more about the tips within the book, but really it is up to the reader to judge whether or not these are helpful, and thus all I can say is that the book is a very pleasant addition to my collection. I feel that due to the writing style, it may explain certain aspects that generally seem daunting in a much simpler way than other resources.

      Pros
Well laid out, written in an easy to read and fun way, images.

I personally didn’t like the cover.
      Bottom line
An interesting modern sex self-help book which is neither condescending nor intimidating.
